About This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Unique Eliapp handles personal information when you browse the website, create an account, place an order, join a mailing list or contact us.

For the purposes of applicable data-protection law, Unique Eliapp determines why and how personal information collected through this store is processed. Our current contact details are available on the Contact Us page.

Our Privacy Commitments

We aim to process personal information lawfully, reasonably and transparently. We apply the principles of accountability, purpose specification, compatible further processing, data quality, openness, security safeguards, minimality and data-subject participation.

Information We Collect

Depending on how you use the store, we may collect:

  • identity information, such as your name and account identifier;
  • contact information, such as your email address and telephone number;
  • delivery and billing information, including addresses, region and delivery instructions;
  • order information, including products, quantities, prices, promotions, returns and fulfilment history;
  • payment-related information, such as payment method, provider reference and payment status;
  • account preferences, saved addresses, wishlist items and marketing choices;
  • communications, enquiries, complaints, reviews and support history; and
  • technical information, such as IP address, device, browser, pages viewed, cookies and security logs.

We do not intentionally store complete card numbers, card security codes, mobile-money PINs or similar payment credentials.

How We Collect Information

We collect information directly from you when you complete forms, register, order, communicate with us or change your preferences. We also receive information automatically from the website and from service providers involved in payments, delivery, fraud prevention, hosting and customer support.

Why We Use Personal Information

We use personal information where it is necessary and relevant to:

  • operate the website and provide requested features;
  • create and secure customer accounts;
  • process payments, orders, delivery, returns and refunds;
  • communicate transaction and service updates;
  • respond to questions, complaints and support requests;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorised access and other security incidents;
  • maintain accounting, tax, audit and business records;
  • improve products, services and website performance;
  • send marketing where you have consented or another lawful basis applies; and
  • comply with law, lawful requests and the establishment or defence of legal claims.

Legal Grounds

Depending on the activity, processing may be based on your consent, performance of a contract with you, compliance with law, protection of your legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of the store or another party, provided those interests do not improperly override your rights.

Where consent is used, you may withdraw it for future processing. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful and may not affect processing supported by another lawful ground.

Payments

Payment information may be sent directly to an authorised payment provider. We usually receive a transaction reference, amount, method, status and limited payer details needed to match and support the payment.

The payment provider handles payment credentials under its own privacy and security obligations. Never send a card PIN, mobile-money PIN or one-time password to us.

Cookies & Similar Technologies

The website may use cookies, local storage and similar technologies to keep the cart and account working, remember preferences, protect forms, measure performance and understand use of the store.

Where consent is legally required for a non-essential technology, we will request it. You may also control cookies through your browser, although blocking essential storage may prevent parts of the store from working correctly.

Marketing

We send optional marketing only where permitted. You may unsubscribe through the message, update an available account preference or contact us.

Transactional messages about an account, payment, order, delivery, return or security issue are not marketing and may still be sent where necessary to provide the service.

Sharing Personal Information

We may share only the information reasonably needed with trusted providers that support:

  • payment processing and fraud prevention;
  • delivery, collection and fulfilment;
  • website hosting, storage, security and maintenance;
  • email, SMS and customer-support communications;
  • analytics, accounting and professional advice; and
  • legal compliance, regulators, courts or law-enforcement authorities where disclosure is lawful.

We do not sell personal information. Providers are expected to handle information only for authorised purposes and with appropriate safeguards.

International Processing

Some technology providers may store or process information outside Ghana. Where information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to assess the destination and provider and use safeguards required by applicable law.

Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including fulfilment, support, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, dispute resolution and legal obligations.

Retention periods vary by record type. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it, subject to backup cycles and lawful record-keeping duties.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against loss, unauthorised access, unlawful processing, alteration or destruction. Measures may include access controls, secure connections, authentication, backups, monitoring and staff or provider confidentiality obligations.

No internet service is completely risk-free. You should use a strong unique password, protect your devices and contact us promptly if you suspect account misuse.

Your Rights

Subject to applicable law and any relevant exemption, you may have the right to:

  • ask whether we hold personal information about you;
  • request access to that information;
  • request correction of information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • object to certain processing;
  • require direct marketing to stop;
  • withdraw consent where processing relies on consent; and
  • make a complaint or seek another remedy available under law.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and explain where a request cannot be fulfilled in full.

Children

The store is not designed to collect personal information directly from children who cannot lawfully consent or contract for themselves. A parent or guardian should place an order for a child. Contact us if you believe a child submitted information without appropriate authority.

Data Protection Compliance

We are responsible for meeting applicable obligations under Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), including relevant registration, transparency, security and data-subject-rights requirements.

If you believe we have not resolved a privacy concern, you may have the right to complain to Ghana’s Data Protection Commission. Information about the Commission is available at dataprotection.org.gh.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this policy when our practices, providers or legal obligations change. The latest version and updated date will be published on this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or an appropriate contact channel.
